This smoke report will be a little more different than my traditional flower reviews. This smoke report is on one of Dinafems new high cbd auto strains, Industrial Plant Cbd Auto, but not on the flowers rather the extract.
This specific extract was produced using ethanol. The cannabis buds are soaked and lightly agitated in the ethanol solution for a specific period of time. In this case, it was for 2 minutes. Once the flowers have been removed from the ethanol it then gets strained through coffee filters to help remove any excess material. Then the mixture is evaporated off over a 72hr period by using a heat mat. Leaving a nice clean end product with very little unwanted plant material or contaminants in the end product.
For this review, we used a D-Nail (Electronic nail) and a Titanium nail heated up with a high power torch lighter. We find that when using extracts that a D-nail is essential to dial in what temperature works best for your specific extract. In this case, we were getting the best results with the D-Nail set at 600-750o. The lower temperatures gave us more flavor whilst the higher temperatures delivered a much heavier hit whilst still retaining some unique flavors/tastes. Temperature above 750o for this specific extracts delivered a harsh hit to the lungs so we kept the Temps in the mid-600o,s.
Now onto the smoke test, which as you know is my favorite part.
Firstly when we opened the silicone tubs that the extract came in you are struck with the old school smell that you get from the photoperiod industrial plant. A subtle citrus smell possibly “lemon” and a very prominent spice smell is there.
Now the looking and smelling is done I loaded up a nice dab and hit the D-Nail. Within seconds all pain I get in my knees was gone and I felt an immediate release from the anxiety that I suffer from, literally 10 seconds and 0.02g of Dinafems Industrial Plant Cbd Auto gave me more relief than 20 tablets a day that I have to take. The onset of effects was immediate, long lasting and more importantly natural!.
At first, we had the D-Nail set to 750o which was giving a great hit and fast relief but very little flavor. The hit was quite hard on the chest/lungs also. With this in mind, we dialed the D-Nail down to 650o and this is when we got the best results. The flavors are much more complex than from smoking flowers as you would expect from a concentrated extract. With hints of lemon, pepper, and a pine tastes on the exhale. With the temperature dropped we got the best flavor from the extract and the smoke/vapor was far kinder on the old chest.
Overall I do think this is the way of the future, especially for the medical cannabis community. With extracts, you only need a very small amount and the onset of effects is unbelievable compared to smoking flowers. We have tried high cbd strains in the past all with great medicine values. This was the first high cbd auto strain we have tried and the industrial plant cbd Auto did not disappoint. We found it very effective on moderate to severe pain, anxiety, depression and migraines. This was just our finding and I’m sure that once more people try these new high cbd genetics more medical values will be discovered.
10/10 to Dinafem for creating this high cbd autoflowering strain. Also to the plant grower, extract maker, and good friend Mr Moore .
If you are a medical cannabis user and need to produce a good medicinal crop but are limited on space or time then this is certainly a great option.
